Inlay Burmese Kitchen is a full-service Burmese restaurant tucked into a shopping center on E Round Grove Road in Lewisville, offering an authentic taste of Myanmar’s diverse cuisine. The atmosphere is unpretentious and welcoming, with a family-run feel that makes it a comfortable spot whether you're dropping in for a casual weeknight dinner or a weekend meal out with friends or family.

The space itself is cozy and modest, focusing more on the food and friendly service than fancy décor. On visiting, expect attentive, personable staff who are ready to guide you through the menu—especially helpful if you’re new to Burmese flavors. The vibe leans toward relaxed and approachable rather than formal dining.

The menu stands out with dishes like the Inlay Tea Leaf Salad, which locals and first-timers alike praise for its complex layering of crunchy textures and bold flavors. This salad captures a bright, tangy note alongside toasted seeds and fermented tea leaf, making it a fitting introduction to the cuisine. For those seeking heartier fare, the Burmese curries, including beef and lamb varieties, offer rich, comforting warmth distinct from more familiar Thai or Indian curries, accompanied by perfectly light jasmine rice and flaky paratha breads.

The variety covers vegetable-centric options and unique regional specialties such as Kachin Whole Fish in Banana Leaf and Spicy Noodles. Appetizers like Burmese samosas and yellow split pea fritters make for satisfying starters that complement the main dishes well. The overall menu invites exploration with a broad palette of textures and mildly spicy profiles, ideal for diners interested in a flavorful, well-balanced meal.

This restaurant fits well into the local dining scene for those looking to expand beyond Tex-Mex or standard Asian fare. It seems particularly suited to people who appreciate patiently crafted dishes and a dining pace that encourages savoring each bite. Visiting earlier in the evening on less busy weekdays may offer the best chance for attentive service and a quieter experience.

Inlay Burmese Kitchen is a good fit for adventurous eaters and anyone curious about Burmese food, but it also appeals to folks who enjoy close-knit, local family-run spots where the staff’s hospitality adds to the experience. Whether you come for a nuanced salad, a slowly stewed curry, or something like the uniquely spiced ginger salad, expect a meal that feels thoughtfully prepared and pleasantly unhurried.

The tea leaf salad really stands out. The rest of the food is very good, but this dish was the star, bursting with so many layers of flavor and texture. Bright, bold, crunchy, and completely addictive. The Burmese curry and the Oh Noh Kauswe are hearty and comforting, perfect if you want something rich and satisfying. The paratha is also buttery and flaky. Service is also great. Would definitely recommend!

Showed they were open on Google, but when I arrived, they were closed! I decided to go back—and I’m so glad I did. This is a family-owned restaurant, and you feel like part of the family as soon as you walk in. The young man, Doi, at the front is very polite and approachable. This was my first time eating Burmese food, and he did a great job explaining the menu. I ordered the Burmese samosas and quickly realized this was just the start of a very flavorful experience. The samosas have a potato filling, and with every bite, you get a new taste of authentic Burmese flavor. They’re handmade and absolutely delicious. I then ordered the Basil and Eggplant dish, made with basil, eggplant, tofu, peppers, and onions stir-fried and coated in a thick sauce. This dish was absolutely delicious, and if I had to give any notes, I’d say just a touch more spice and a pinch more salt. However, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I’m looking forward to becoming a regular at this restaurant and working my way through the menu. This truly is a hidden gem.

First time here at Inlay and also my first time eating Burmese food. I did some research beforehand and found out that their curry has good reviews. So I ordered the lamb curry. The curry was different than Thai or Indian curry. Its taste was unique and delicious. The lamb was soft and flavorful. Though it could have a been a little softer. The rice that came with the dish was light and tasted lovely with the curry sauce. Service is good but I had to ask for a refill of water and rice instead of the waiter noticing. Extra rice is $1.50. Overall my experience was good and I look forward to my next visit to Inlay.

Amazing! I’ve had the tea leaf salads, lots of the vegetable dishes, sour leaf with prawn, samosas, and several other dishes. All have been phenomenal! Beautiful presentation/atmosphere, and fantastic service!

9/10 highly recommend the tea leaf salad and the curry but I'm sure everything on the menu is outstanding. The staff is always very friendly and able to provide menu insights if needed. Absolutely reccomend, especially for those who have never tried Burmese food!

I'm so glad I came! • the atmosphere was clean and peaceful • our server was such a sweetie, very attentive, and helped us with any questions • we got the burmese samosas and they were FRESH out of the fryer. They weren't spicy at all and were spiced beautifully. The dipping sauce with the scallions was a very nice addition. • the mango chicken was SOOO GOOD. I'm literally salivating thinking about it. First off, it's colorful and visually inviting. The sauce is sweet and savory and the crunch from the carrots is nice and the burst of fresh mango was phenomenal. I really enjoyed this dish. • I also ordered the N1. Nan Gyi Thoke and not gonna lie, I didn't love it. The noodles were thick like udon and the sauce was just alright. It wasn't bad by any means, just not my jam. BUT! It's apparently a very popular dish so take what I say with a grain of salt Overall, I loved this experience! I'm glad this restaurant was my first experience with Burmese food. I can't wait to come back whenever I'm in town. Thank you for such a cool and delicious meal!

I've been eating here for years and come to be familiar with the family running the restaurant. Very nice, attentive and hard workers. Places like this are declining so it's nice to see them still in business. Food is high quality and you can tell the mother has put a lot of thought and love into creating these dishes. I'm glad the ramen shop next door was booked, otherwise I wouldn't have come across inlay Burmese kitchen. Please visit them and give their food a try!
